English as a Second Language is our largest department. Students can choose classes in conversation, grammar, listening, pronunciation, writing and vocabulary. You may take comprehensive classes where you practice reading, writing, listening and speaking while you focus on a topic such as business, American and World culture or translation. Students can choose classes that prepare them for the TOEFL, TOEIC, CLEP Tests. Some serious students choose to build their resumes while practicing English as volunteers at American companies or service organizations. Other students focus on conversation and listening so that they can understand US movies and popular culture and make new friends around the world. We have ongoing classes in many languages including French, Japanese and Spanish, and we can arrange classes for any major language . From our Honolulu location, just an 8 minute walk from famous Waikiki, we serve the world. We work with individuals and businesses to custom design programs that meet any language training, translation, interpretive or tutoring need.
