New UH Manoa Scholarships

For anyone studying abroad in Hawaii, whether you can get a scholarship or not is a very important question. Especially given that Hawaii's known as one of the most expensive places to live in the United States, any kind of monetary support goes a long way for exchange students. To help with this, the Hawaii Department of Education and the University of Hawaii, offers a wide range of scholarships each year. And this year, a new scholarship from the university's College of Business has been made available.
This scholarship was made possible by a $50,000 donation from two alums of the university.
The alums, Jenny Teruya and her husband, Albert, are certified accountants, and are currently professors at the university. They both established this scholarship so that students facing economic difficulties, with the academic potential of getting a Master's Degree in accounting, would be able to fulfill their dream.
There is also one more new scholarship that's worth mentioning here. This scholarship was established by university alumnist, Stuart Matsuda, and his wife Michelle, in memory of his younger brother Todd Kiyo Matsuda, who passed away in 1980. Like the previous scholarship mentioned above, this scholarship is also primarily focused on students in the College of Business.
The University of Hawaii's College of Business had just been renamed to the Shidler College of Business, with repairs being made to the department building to better the learning experience for students. The abundance of scholarship opportunities within the College of Business will certainly do a lot to attract more and more students to enter the program, as well as to further enrich the learning experience of students at the University of Hawaii.
