There are many different Hawaiian expressions seen in local news papers or conversations. This is because there are still Hawaiian languages that are used from back in the days. Hawaiians used to use only Hawaiian languages when they communicate, but when the missionaries and other people who moved to Hawaii, the locals started to mix-use the languages.
Here are some local expressions that might be helpful for you to know:
Pau---Finished, done
Are you pau?---Are you done?
Grind---Eat, or food
Kokua---To help, cooperate
Howzit?---How is it going?
Pau-hana---Fun after work
Mahalo---Thank you
