Aloha Stadium Swap Meet
Every local knows about the "swap meet", or Hawaii's version of the flea market. The most famous of all of Hawaii's swap meets, would have to be the "Aloha Stadium Swap Meet".
With the Aloha Stadium being able to accommodate about 50,000 people, you can just imagine the gigantic scale of this swap meet. Open for business every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, the swap meet jam packs the Aloha Stadium parking lot, making it a nearly impossible to see all the shops in a single day.
You can find just about anything that'll make a good Hawaiian souvenir, from Aloha shirts, Hawaiian accessories, to even hula dolls. Best of all, unlike at Waikiki or Ala Moana, you won't have to spend an arm and a leg to get what you want here. Many of the shops sell similar items, so don't be in such a rush to buy something as soon as you lay eyes on it - another shop a few feet away might be selling the exact same thing for much less.
If you get tired from your bargain hunting, you can always take a break at one of the many snack stands set up around the stadium. They sell coconut juice, hand-baked bread, pineapple slices, and my personal favorite, shaved ice. Nothing is more delicious on a hot summer day than a cup full of shaved ice!
