The population keeps on rising year after year on O'ahu. Especially on the west side of the island, in areas like Kapolei and Waianae. With the increase of families living on the leeward side of the island, companies are now beginning to build their offices there, giving way to leeward cities that will one day rival Honolulu. This shift in population to the western side of the island over the past few years, has increased demands for the establishment of a new mass transit system on O'ahu.
