For those running in the Honolulu Marathon over the weekend, it was exhilarating but also confusing, as the use of a new disposable recording device caused problems. It turns out that the completion times of many runners were not recorded. Only 21,000 people were listed as finishing, while the tally at the start put the participants at around 27,000.
