Haleakala National Park on Maui plans to expand its size by purchasing 4,000 acres from the James Campbell Co on the south side of the island. The land, to be bought at cost of $3 million, was formerly a ranch owned by the Campbell family for over 100 years. With the new acquisition, the park will expand to over 34,000 acres in size.
