US Jobs Decline
February 1, 2008
A recent report by the US Department of Labor indicates that the US job market may be slipping. Mixed signals from the report had little effect on the stock market today. The reports showed that the economy lost over 17,000 jobs in January, mostly in the manufacturing and construction industries. The decline was the first since August 2003. Wall Street analysts had predicted earlier in the month that 80,000 jobs would be created in January.
