Director Steven Spielberg has announced that he will no longer be advising China in the upcoming Beijing Olympics in August. The director cited his frustration with the Chinese authorities over the continued financial support of the government in Sudan. A number of human rights organization praised the decision by Spielberg, and hopes that it will shed light on the conflict. In the western province of Darfur, fighting between government-backed militias and rebels has left more than 200,000 people dead since 2003.
