A gunman burst into a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University yesterday, killing five students and wounding twenty others before finally turning the gun on himself. The man, identified as Stephen P. Kazmierczak, was a former student of the school who had graduated with high marks in 2006. At the time of the shooting, he was enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a school over one hundred miles away.
