Mayor Gives Speech
February 22, 2008
Honolulu city mayor Mufi Hanneman outlined his vision of the coming year in his annual state of the city speech last night. Proposals included an expansion of curbside recycling, the creation of an affordable housing area in Chinatown and police patrols for parks and beaches. While the city is experiencing a tax revenue crunch, the mayor is confident that the proposals can be implemented without a tax increase.
