The Varsity Theater in Moili'ili will be torn down at the end of the month. The venerable landmark at the corner of King and University will be demolished and replaced with a temporary parking lot. The owners of the property, Kamehameha Schools, cited falling walls and cracks in the infrastructure as reasons for the demolition. Asbestos in the ceiling will have to be removed before the structure can be brought down.
