New York Governor To Resign
March 11, 2008
Aides for Eliot Spitzer, the Governor of New York, expect him to resign soon after allegations connecting him to a prostitution ring that was busted up by law enforcement last week. Lieutenant Governor David Paterson and his staff have begun laying the groundwork for him to take over as governor should Spitzer resign. Lawmakers have called for an impeachment of the governor if he does not leave office within 48 hours.
