Geraldine Ferraro, the only woman to run for vice-president in 1984 is leaving the Clinton campaign because of comments she made stating that the only reason Barack Obama was ahead in the Democratic race was because he was black. Senator Obama denounced Ferraro's comments at a campaign appearance in Chicago on Wednesday but also said he did not think they were intended to be racist.
