Kilauea Spews Toxic Gas
March 27, 2008
Officials on the Big Island are growing concerned with the amount of toxic gas being given off by the recent eruption of Kilauea at the Halema'uma'u crater. Big Island mayor Harry Kim raised concerns that people living in the area might have to be evacuated due to health concerns. The recent eruption has doubled its gas emissions over the last month and now pumps out over 2,000 tons of toxic gas a day.
