Some residents of Waikiki are asking the city to limit the number of parades held on Kalakaua Blvd. The number of parades was lowered last year to 39, which doesn't include special events or rallies protected under the First Amendment. Last year there were 44 parades, block parties, charity runs and other events in Waikiki that required streets to close.
