Pope Benedict XVI arrived in Washington today on his first papal trip to the US. The trip will span six days and in which he will tour Washington DC and New York city. This is the first U.S. papal visit since the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 and security around the pope is expected to be tight. In an unusual move, President Bush and his wife greeted the pope personally at the airport when he arrived.
