June 13, 2008
Hawaii Self Storage's co-owner Mike Wood plans to build and furnish the first-ever children's receiving home here on Oahu. Mr. Wood donated $9.2 million dollars to build a safe haven for child victims of domestic abuse. The new home, called Ho'omalu O Na Kamali'i which means "safe haven for our children," in Hawaiian, will be a secure and temporary place where children can stay together while Child Welfare Services investigate their home situation.
