Kona Airport Plans Renovations

The Hawaii State Department of Transportation is looking at a plan to improve the facilities at Kona Airport. In a recent series of public meetings, department officials and resident in Kona have discussed ways of improving the airport. The last meeting, held last Thursday, looked at a new 20 year plan and $2 million redesign of the current facilities and runways. If approved by the FAA the airport would be eligible for federal, as well as local, funding.
