A State Board of Education committee voted last night to approve lengthening summer vacation for public school students. In a unanimous vote, the board committee approved a change to the school break schedule for kids in kindergarten through high school. The change would extend the summer break by two weeks is expected to be voted upon by the full School Board sometime later this summer.
