Island Visitor Numbers Down
June 27, 2008
The number of visitors coming to Hawaii slipped last month. The total numbers of visitors to the Islands in May was around 554,000, a drop of 7.4 percent the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism reported. The loss of visitors is caused by several factors including the closure of two airlines and the rising price of airline tickets due to higher fuel costs.
