Reward Offered In Turtle Death
July 24, 2008
Several North Shore residents have offered a $1,200 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the slaughter of sea turtle on the North Shore. A 200-pound, 30-year-old female turtle called Honey Girl was discovered buried in the sand on Laniakea Beach on Saturday, with half of her shell and a flipper missing. It is illegal in Hawaii to kill turtles, eat them or use their shells.
