New Orleans After Gustav
September 2, 2008
New Orleans officials have started recovery efforts after Hurricane Gustav hit the city with 110 mile-an-hour winds on Monday, forcing an evacuation of the city and causing widespread damage to coastal areas. Power has been cut off to more than 1.4 million homes across Louisiana. Unlike Hurricane Katrina which devastated the city in 2005, the damage from Gustav was mostly wind-related and not due to excessive flooding.
