California Wildfires Still Burn
October 14, 2008
Wildfires continued to rage through southern California today, forcing thousands of residents to flee their homes and destroying hundreds of homes. The fires have raged out of control due to low humidity and to the swift blowing Santa Ana winds, blowing in from the northwest. Gusts from the winds have been reported as high as 70 miles per hour.
