School Aide Pleads Guilty Of Assault
A McKinley High School teacher's assistant pleaded guilty yesterday to sexually assaulting a 17-year-old female special education student last year. Gregory Keau, 30, pleaded guilty to four counts of sex assault. If given the maximum sentence, He could face up to 22 years in prison.
Keau pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the girl between March 1 and April 2, 2007. It was on May 16th, when he was caught assaulting the girl in a classroom by another teacher. The girl later told police that Keau first sexually assaulted her when she was 16 years old. He remains in prison while he awaits sentencing.
The Department of Education hired Keau back in 2001. While employed at the school, he was found guilty of misdemeanor third-degree assault in Family Court and was sentenced to one year's probation and six days in jail, which he completed on weekends.
Sentencing for the current case is scheduled for October.
