Starbucks Offers Drink Promotion
Starbucks Coffee is expanding its "Treat Receipt" promotion, previously only available in Miami, Chicago and Seattle to the rest of the nation on Tuesday. The coffee giant announced the plan after posting its first-ever net loss last quarter.
Under the promotion, morning customers will be able to buy any "grande" or medium sized drinks purchased after 2:00pm for only $2. The price is a large cut from most "grande" sized drinks, which usually cost around four dollars. To get the discount, customers must present a receipt from their morning coffee purchase.
The move to expand the afternoon iced drinks promotion comes after Starbucks said last week that it would try to offer more “value” in its fall and holiday offerings as the company seeks to boost afternoon traffic at its stores. Starbucks has already been testing a variety of regional promotions this summer by offering discounted drinks in some cities on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The current afternoon drink promotion will run nationwide until September 2nd.
