Heavy Rains Hit Oahu

A band of heavy thunderstorm pounded into Oahu early this morning causing brief but extensive flooding throughout Honolulu and surrounding areas. There are reports of street flooding near Ala Moana around Ke'eaumoku Street and Kapi'olani Boulevard. Other reports indicate heavy rains near Kailua.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for light rains throughout the day with a high chance for locally heavy rainfall. A flash flood watch remains in effect for Kauai, Oahu and Maui until later this evening.
