Kilauea Spews Rocks
March 20, 2008
Kilauea's Halemaumau Crater erupted with a jolt yesterday and sent rocks flying over a 75-acre area on the Big Island. Scientists recorded a 3.7-magnitude earthqauake after the explosion and determined later that pent-up gas pressure was the cause. The eruption left a giant crater roughly 100 feet across.
