State Authorizes Turtle Bay Acquisition
May 2, 2008
The Hawaii State legislature passed a bill yesterday that would allow the state to negotiate a purchase of the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore. The plan, articulated in the governor’s State of the State address to the legislature, would allow private investors to purchase golf courses and other developed portions of the resort so the state can acquire and preserve undeveloped Kawela Bay and Kahuku Point.
