US Economy Up
August 28, 2008
The US economy grew more from April to June by a larger margin than anyone expected, a new report confirms today. Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the largest measure of economic activity, rose at rate of 3.3 percent in the second quarter, outpacing estimates of the sluggish 1.9 percent growth predicted. Economists say that the figure show some strength in the economy after poor 0.9 growth during the first part of the year.
