Maui Automates Trash Collection
September 29, 2008
The county of Maui has announced that it will "automate" some if its trash collecting services in Upcountry and West Maui. As part of the new "1 Can Plan" project, 7,000 customers will be given 95-gallon wheeled cart that can be collected by a one-man garbage truck. Delivery of the new carts has started in some areas and service should start by the end of November.
