Worlds Largest Spam Network Shut Down
October 15, 2008
A district court in Illinois has ordered an international spam email network to shut down, according to officials with the US Federal Trade Commission. The group, going by the name HerbalKings and Click Fusion among others, was the largest sender of unwanted email on the internet. Over the last year and a half, the group has been responsible for sending billions of messages to users worldwide. While the group sent out spam offering luxury goods, counterfeit pharmaceuticals and pornography, the largest market was for herbal supplements.
