More Hawaii students will have to wear seat belts after new federal regulations went into effect yesterday. The new rules calls for students to wear shoulder and lap seat belts will have to be installed only in new buses weighing 5 tons or less.
The new rules will not be for larger buses, as officials worry it will limit seating space, forcing some to walk or ride in unsafe cars.
