City Council members in Honolulu are talking about diverting the controversial rail route from Salt Lake to the airport. On Wednesday, the council voted 7-1 in favor of changing the route. The bill would alter the 20 mile track to go to the airport and Pearl Harbor Naval Base instead of the Salt Lake residential area. The rest of the route, beginning from Kapolei and ending in Ala Moana, would stay the same.
