Homeless Shelters See 19% Increase

Homeless shelters have seen a 19 percent increase in the number of people using their facilities, a new report by the University of Hawaii found. At the Homeless Awareness Conference in Waikiki yesterday, the report states that 6,733 people were in homeless shelters statewide last year, with nearly 5,000 of them living on Oahu.
