The pothole problem is receiving some attention in Kalihi this week with the repaving of Kamehameha IV road in Kalihi. Persistent sewer and utility construction have left the road filled with potholes and metal plates, leaving a hazardous road for local drivers. Neighbors have complained about the road for years. Expect delays over the next two weeks.
The number of potholes on Oahu roads has decreased since the mayor announced the war on potholes back in 2005, but recent construction and rain makes it seem like the old days.
Anyone who has driven down Kapiolani Blvd in recent weeks knows just how frustrating, let alone dangerous, bad roads can be. Now, if the city would just declare war on Kapiolani Blvd. . .
