JANew Hawaii Flag Stamp
The US Postal Service has announced a new stamp of the Hawaiian State flag for the "Flags of our Nation" stamp series. The new stamp will be dedicated at a ceremony on September 2nd at the Airport Post Office in Honolulu.
Flags of our Nation is a three-year, multi-stamp series that features the Stars and Stripes along with the 50 state flags, five territorial flags, and the District of Columbia flag. Along with the flags, the stamps include artwork incorporating aspects of the state or surrounding area.
The first ten stamps in the series were offered on Flag Day on June 22nd. The second set, which includes Hawaii, will be sold starting September 2nd and will include the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Kansas. Four more sets of flag stamps will be issued in 2009 and 2010.
