Mayor Kim Has Another Heart Attack
Big Island Mayor Harry Kim has suffered another heart attack. The mayor was drving to work this morning when he experience chest pains and was flown to Queens's Medical Center on Oahu. Officials with the Mayor's Office say that Kim is in good condition and that they are optimistic about his prognosis.
Kim as suffered two previous heart attacks, one in 2005 and a second one only a month ago. Reports are that Kim suffered severe chest pains around 7:15 this morning while driving to the Civil Defense office on the Big Island. After driving to a fire station for help, Kim was transferred to Queen's Medical Center on Oahu. No official word about his condition has been released yet.
After Kim's heart attack last month, the mayor has tried reducing his workload, but it hasn't been easy. With only three months left in his administration, Kim has pushed hard improve the financial situation of hospitals on the Big Island while preparing for the transition to the next administration in December.
