USS Arizonal Memorial!!!
This is Yuka and Moroki, who participated in the Arizona Memorial tour this time. They were staying at the Waikiki Beach Comber. We went to pick them up around 2:00 pm and set off to the Arizona Memorial. Let’s go!

We arrive at 2:20 pm! Wasn’t that fast? It only takes about 20 minutes from Waikiki to get to the Arizona Memorial. You arrive at the memorial in a short time. Note: The winds around this area can be pretty strong so be careful
Okay, here we are getting our free tickets from USS Arizona Memorial staff. Their staff is so nice and fast. Even with the long lines they can still make take care of everyone. (Nice) These tickets are for the boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial tour. Check out Hawaiimode's 'Ms. K' in green as she poses for a shot while getting her tickets.
Title: 2:30 Viewing the museum! This is the museum inside of the Arizona Memorial. Here you will find the history about the attack on Pearl Harbor, pictures from that time period, and models of ships amongst other things and is laid out in a space that is about as wide as an ABC store in Waikiki. Yuka & Moroki seem to be carefully studying about the history of the place. That is a good thing.
Now our tour begins. This time we will be taking the tour that starts from 3:00 pm. The tours run everyday from 7:30 am until 3:00 pm. The last program is from 3:00 pm, so if you’re going to the Arizona Memorial we recommend you come before that.
After viewing the movie, we finally board the boat that will take us to the sunken ship, the USS Arizona. There are only about 5 Japanese people on the boat and the 100 participants are Americans. Makes us feel a little depressed because of what the Japanese Army did to America.
After approximately 5 minutes of riding on the boat, we arrive at the USS Arizona. While on the boat ride we continued to take pictures all while having a slight feeling of guilt. We are all looking forward to see the Arizona Memorial and learn more about Japanese and American history.
This picture is on the returning boat. “Don’t stand up!” says a US Naval Officer. Sorry… Standing on the boat is not allowed, so if you don’t want someone to get angry at you like I did, then it might be better not to stand up if not for your own sake.
Anyhow, this is the end of the tour.
G: “Was it interesting?”
(Yuka & Moroki): “It was very interesting! Although rather than interesting it was more educational. It was a very valuable experience to learn about the truth on the attack on Pearl Harbor. We recommend it to everyone! And it’s free!
G: “Yes, that’s right. We want more people to know that it’s free. Japanese history classes tend to hide the historical facts, but if more Japanese people try to learn about history themselves, it would be great. Thank you for your hard work today.”
USS Arizona Extras
How to get to the Arizona Memorial: From Waikiki, get on the H1 and head toward the airport. After passing the airport, you should see a sign that says Arizona Memorial, so get into that lane and continue straight.
After going straight for a little while, next you will see the Arizona Memorial on your left side.
The interior of the museum looks like this.
The number 24 here isn’t for the hit TV show 24, but rather stands for the 24th tour. The tour we took today was the last tour for the day, so that means that they had 24 tours throughout the day. In addition, the tours start from 7:30 am until 3:00 pm.
The day was lively with lots of tourists
Inside the museum, they sell souvenirs of the USS Arizona Memorial. There are other shops as well, so maybe you can buy some?
This is a torpedo of the Japanese Army.
At the beginning of the tour, a short film is shown.

This is the monument located inside the museum. The names of the people who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor are written down here.
You can see the sunken USS Arizona from the Memorial. At this time, the editor G was having his picture taken by a Caucasian older male. He probably thought it was a peculiar sight and took a lot of pictures.
