Superferry Wait
The Hawaii Superferry quietly waits in the middle of the Honolulu pier to begin it's voyage to the outer islands of Hawaii. At the moment, the ferry is unable to sail due to the various legal and environmental issues holding back the Superferry from sailing.
According to the court, the Superferry will not be allowed to begin service to the outer islands. On September 5th, the court decided that the case for the Superferry was to be extended due to the absence of the Environmental Impact Statement which is needed for all ship traveling in Hawaii waters.
The Superferry has faced alot of trouble trying to get their services off the ground all due to the fact that there was no (EIS) statement before they began their operation.
Superferry officials are rushing to have the (EIS) statement completed as soon as possible. However, as Maui is known for their whale population, an (EIS) statement is a must for the Superferry.
The Superferry is a welcome interisland attraction to the locals and tourists of Hawaii traveling to the outer islands. However, there are still many people who are worried about the Hawaii environment. Let's wish the Superferry good luck and hopefully we can be riding soon.
Aloha!
