When in Rome, do as the Romans do! This isn’t just a good rule of thumb, it could slso protect you from getting in trouble with the law. Here are some of the basic laws in Hawaii that everyone should know:

【Smoking】
Laws on smoking in the US are very strict, especially in Hawaii. There is absolutely no smoking in bars or restaurants or any other workplace for that matter. That includes hotels, stores, lounges, and offices. In fact, smoking is prohibited within 6 meters of any business establishment. So unless there is a sign indicating a “smoking area” beware!

【Alcohol】
Alcohol-related laws are also very strict in the USA. Of course you need to be 21 and over to purchase alcoholic products, but you need to show your ID if you look any younger than 30! In fact, I would say you’re likely to get ID’d at any age unless you’re a senior citizen! What’s more, drinking outdoors in public is absolutely prohibited! That means no cocktails on the beach and no beer at the soccer field!
