Waikiki's Healing Stones
It's been said that long ago, Waikiki was a place known for its magical power, or mana. Many great shamans lived in the area, performing rituals to heal people of their illnesses. In fact, sacred healing stones (or wizard stones as some call them) filled with mana still exist in Waikiki today.
According to ancient Hawaiian legend, these healing stones were brought to Oahu in the 16th century by four kahunas from Tahiti. It is from these kahunas that ancient Hawaiians learned of the power to heal.
A month after the four kahunas left the islands, the healing stones became filled with incredible healing powers. Hawaiians were forever grateful to have these stones in their possession.
Not much is known about the four kahunas, but it is said that while they were very tall and had a great, manly physique, they were very feminine in their behavior and mannerisms.
The healing stones can be find just beside the police box in Waikiki Beach, though it is surrounded by a fence and no one is allowed to touch them directly. However, one cannot help but feel that the mana radiating from these stones continues to flow throughout Waikiki to this very day.
