Your Name in Pictographs
While walking down Waikiki, you're bound to come across a bunch of people crowded around something. Looking into the crowd, you'll see a guy sitting at a desk, drawing out letters with pictures. Just what is he doing?
He's writing out any word of your choice - be it your name or something else entirely - in Hawaii-inspired pictographs. Just hand him a little memo with the word of your choice on it, and off he goes! With a master's touch, his colorful brush strokes come to life - and it only takes him a few minutes.
As everything is Hawaii-inspired, the pictographs he'll be drawing will consist of images like dolphins, whales, birds, and flowers - basically things that transmit Hawaii's unique atmosphere.
The price varies depending on the artist, but it's usually about a dollar per character. If you want to have the finished drawing put in something special, like a frame, it could cost as much as $50.
There are many reasons people enjoy having this done, from having their name written to commemorate visiting Hawaii, to newlywed couples having their initials written during their honeymoons. You can even have them write "Aloha" for you - no matter what it is, you can be sure to have your own unique sign.
For a distinctly Hawaiian souvenir, there's nothing more unique than this.
