The UCC coffee plantation is a fun place to visit
and offers informative tours of the shop and nearby factory.
Coffee is a must-have item for many people. Whether you need a cup to get you going in the morning or like a drink in the afternoon to help you relax, good coffee is one of the finer pleasures in life. UCC COFFEE, one of the most famous coffee companies in Japan, owns and operates a lovely 26-acre coffee estate on the Big Island and has made it its mission to bring a smile to coffee lovers around the world.
Kona-grown coffee has attracted many loyal fans and is well known for its soft sourness and the mild texture. The land in Kona, with its rich soil and perfect balance of daytime and nighttime temperatures, is an ideal environment to grow coffee beans. The coffee beans are so good in fact, that UCC was awarded the best farm in Hawaii from the Department of Agriculture.
The UCC coffee plantation is a fun place to visit and offers informative tours of the shop and nearby factory. At the moment, the tours are restricted due to extensive renovations (which will be completed at the beginning of August) but you can still visit the lovely estate.
Call ahead for a factory tour and get an in-depth look at the delicate roasting process and everything else that goes into making the finest coffee. You can even try roasting your own beans! Don’t worry if you don’t have experience, the roasting specialists can help you find the perfect balance of flavor and taste.
Stop by UCC where you can see the gorgeous countryside on the Big Island and enjoy some truly delicious coffee.

Experience the mystic power of cold and ice
with the professional tour company, TAIKOBO.
Bright sunlight. Waves dashing against the shore. The words Spring, Autumn, or even Winter can’t match the year-round tropical paradise of Hawaii. For those who miss the snow, however, you can experience the mystic power of cold and ice with the professional tour company, TAIKOBO. The company offers a variety tours to Kilauea and Halemaumau Craters, but the most popular and famous tour is the trip to Mauna Kea.
Darkness covers the sky when the van arrives to the Onizuka Visitor Center. At an altitude of 2800-meters you have to spend some at the center as your body gets used to the lower atmospheric pressure. Even though the Onizuka Visitor Center provides jackets, the cold air that you experience in Hawaii seems a lot worse than the normal winter anywhere else.
Nevertheless, once you see the incredible view of the stars, you can’t help but feel warm inside. After the star stories, explore Mars and Saturn with the reflecting telescope and marvel at the gorgeous detail of the distant planets.
Next is the summit. As the tour van gets closer and closer, the sky becomes brighter as the eastern sky gets whiter. The snow that covers the whole mountain makes you forget that you are in Hawaii, but soon the excitement level rises as light comes to the horizon.
The view can’t easily be explained in words and the wonderful experience begins to feels like a dream as you head back to the hotel.
With the professional tour guides at Taikobo, you can make that dream a reality.
