Let's Go To The Zoo!
Let's go to the Honolulu Zoo, the one and only place where you can see all the animals in Hawaii. Going to the zoo has always been a staple of local residents – whether its a family affair for the kids, or a date for couples, the zoo's always crowded with visitors.
After a quick glimpse of this zoo, you'd notice they have a ton of different animals there you wouldn't see otherwise in Hawaii. 350 different species, with over 1,200 animals to be exact.
All of the animals here are presented in their natural environments, with sections that includes an African Savanna spreading inside of a tropical rain forest; a section entirely devoted to tropical fishes; the monkeys' space with swings and hammocks, and a keiki space that's great fun for children. It's admittedly a bit small in here, but that doesn't take away from the enjoyment one bit. There's so much more to be found at the zoo, so be sure to check out that pamphlet you get at the entrance.
After the seeing the animals, why not stop for lunch? There's a snack corner inside the zoo, where you could enjoy a simple meal in the shade or have a picnic on the grass.
Once you've finished eating lunch and are on your way out, you can stop by the souvenir shop to buy goods only found at the zoo! They have all kinds of merchandise and cups with the animals' faces on them – perfect for making your trip to the zoo an unforgettable one.
But if you go to the zoo around lunchtime, I'm afraid most of the animals will be taking their afternoon nap by then, so you may end up not seeing them at all! That's why I'd recommend going before lunchtime, to make the best of you visit.
