Compelling water shoots!
The “Halona Blow Hole Lookout” is a famous rock break where you can observe water shooting up into the air in a manner much resembling whales blowing their spout.
Formed by molten lava tubes from volcanic eruptions, the regular 10 meter-high blowholes can actually shoot water up to 30 feet in the air depending on the size of the waves. During the winter from December to April, this is also a great spot for whale watching! Talk about shooting two spouts in one trip!
The Halona Blowhole Lookout is a short drive away from Waikiki, just north of Hanauma Bay. With excellent view of the coastline and outer islands on clear days, This number one tourist spot is a must see whether you’re going for the blowhole, the whales or the extraordinary views.
