Hawaii Superferry!!!

For people who live in Hawaii, getting the neighbor islands can be troublesome sometimes. From packing your bags, going to the airport, looking for a hotel etc. it can be a very costly and troublsome experience. Well, all that is about to change. Hawaii will be welcoming the Superferry which will change the way Hawaii travels.

The Superferry is scheduled to begin operation in July and will offer service between Oahu, Maui, and Kauai. There is another ship scheduled to arrive in 2009 and at this time they will also offer a second daily trip to Oahu, Maui and also include the island of Hawaii on their trip.

The Superferry that Hawaii will be using was inspired by Polynesian double-hulled canoes and has a catamaran design giving it a Hawaiian feel. Originally, citizens were worried of the environmental problems that might come up with the operation of the Superferry but, the Superferry is said to have an independent water-jet propulsion system which means that the propellers are inside the hull which helps to protect marine mammals and other ocean wild life. The ferry is also using some of the most advanced technology available that helps to track the ferry’s location at all times. Not to mention, the ferry has automatic fire control systems onboard and fireproof passenger spaces which are completely made with fire-resistant materials.

The ferry is also able to suit the needs of Hawaii’s small and medium-sized businesses. It is able to carry large commercial vans and trucks as well as even larger vehicles with refrigerator outlets that carry produce and dairy items.

As for the passenger experience on the ferry, it is said to be very comfortable. With panoramic views, large floor-to-ceiling windows and much more, the Superferry is in another class all together when compared with any form of transportation Hawaii has every seen.

The Superferry is a welcome addition to Hawaii and everyone is looking forward to get on board with their cars, vans, and other equipment so they can explore the neighbor islands in style and boost their business. July is just around the corner so get ready Hawaii!
